Kindness for Cancer Patients
On November 18, Hearts of Hope partnered with Cornerstone in Chandler, Arizona, as part of a day of service to help underserved folks in the community. Families and children came together to paint 100 hearts and write notes of gratitude and encouragement. The Cornerstone community was especially excited to provide an opportunity that young children could enjoy, while learning how to practice small acts of kindness for others who are hurting.
The beautiful hearts painted from volunteers at all ages are finding special homes within the Chandler community. Volunteers delivered one batch of finished hearts to a nearby outpatient cancer center, to show their support for those in treatment.
In the next few weeks, the Cornerstone community will continue distributing the hearts amongst their Cancer Care Ministry, as well as to a local senior living and care community.
The volunteers at Cornerstone loved painting hearts and writing thoughtful notes. The event was such a hit that they will be painting more Hearts of Hope at their next service day in the spring!
We are thrilled that with this new partnership, we are able to bring more hope to more people. Every time we get to share the joy and fulfillment of doing something kind for others, our hearts grow fuller. We hope you will consider helping our mission expand by offering your support.
