SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE WHEN TRAGEDY COMES TO SCHOOL.
Bring GRIT™ Support to your school – and help our young people cope with tragedy and grief.
GRIT™ Support, an evidence-based support group program for grieving adolescents, helps students in the immediate aftermath of school tragedies.
Grief changes everything – especially when grief comes to school.
Grief is intense, hard to understand, and frightening. And young people’s experience of it is difficult, even in the best of circumstances. We learn about school losses every day, including school shootings, student suicide or overdose, and the loss of beloved teachers.
GRIT™ Support is a five-session grief support group that directly addresses loss specific to young people when tragedy strikes. Our program recognizes that young people grieve in much the same way as adults, but also in ways that are difficult for adults to grasp.
Support is offered within a safe, comfortable framework that helps young people learn about grief, identify and express feelings, and develop healthy coping skills.
How does GRIT™ Support Work?
Hearts of Hope-trained grief professionals come to your organization or school to train your professionals in the GRIT™ Support model.
This training enables your school or organization’s professionals to deliver this program, either in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy or at times your school or organization deems most appropriate.
